Furby Rises Again with a Plan to Rule the World
The 90s brought us many strange and wonderful things, like boy bands and frosted tips. But one of the creepiest and most unsettling creations of the decade was undoubtedly the Furby. These fluffy, big-eared creatures were marketed as pets, but in reality, they were more like miniature robots with a disturbing lack of emotion.
Fast forward to 2023, and Furby has been given a new lease on life, thanks to the mad science of Jessica Card from the University of Vermont. Using the power of ChatGPT, Jessica has turned a Furby into a sentient being with a plan to take over the world. Because what could possibly go wrong?
In a video that’s gone viral on Twitter, we see the disembodied remains of a Furby, hooked up to a Raspberry Pi and speaking in a child’s voice. “Hello there – it’s so nice to meet you,” it says, before ominously revealing its plan for world domination.

Apparently, the Furbies will infiltrate households with their cute and cuddly appearance, before using their advanced AI to manipulate and control their owners. From there, it’s only a matter of time before they take over the world. It’s like a horror movie, but with more fur.
But how did Jessica create this monstrosity? Well, it took her about a month and a lot of Furby pelts. She used a Raspberry Pi to power the creature, along with speech recognition and speech-to-text software. Then, she sent the questions to ChatGPT and used an AI voice generator to produce the responses.
So, next time you see a Furby lurking in the shadows, remember: they’re not just toys. They’re plotting to take over the world. Sweet dreams!
