The organising committee of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Sport England and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DMCS) have invited community organisations to apply to win equipment used at the Games.

This amazing opportunity is extended to organisations that provide inclusive and accessible sports, wellbeing activities and physical activities within communities located in West Midlands. They are Birmingham, Staffordshire, Black Country, Shropshire, Solihull, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Hereford.

All organisations will encourage the public to take part and unite through sport all while promoting the physical and mental health/well-being of their community.

The initiative’s main goal is to encourage everyone in England to get more active regardless of ability, age or background.

This initiative also coincides with Birmingham 2022’s pledge to start delivering sustainable, inclusive and accessible games.

Both Sport England and Birmingham 2022 are dedicated to tackling indolence and expanding the reach of physical activity and sporting options which are all set out in Birmingham 2022’s Physical Activity and Wellbeing Legacy Plan.

There is a plethora of sporting equipment available including boxing gloves, netballs, basketballs, rugby equipment and more.

However, it’s not just the commonwealth games sporting equipment that is available, there are also consumable items that will help run activities like ice machines, buckets, mops, and vacuum cleaners.

For a full list of what lots are available, you can visit the sports equipment gifting legacy catalogue.
