Can you believe it? Yesterday marked the 20th anniversary of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps – two whole decades since Gaz, Jonny and the gang first hit our screens in 2001!
To celebrate, fans were thrilled to see that the show’s creator Susan Nixon, had been busy behind the scenes and has written a new, celebratory, five minute sketch, which is the first time Gaz and Jonny have seen each other since Jonny, er, died!
The anniversary special debuted on Will Mellor’s Facebook page and on The Viral Group on 26th Feb and Two Pints fans weren’t disappointed.

Speaking about keeping the new production a secret and reuniting the gang, CEO of Formidable Media, Pete Gibbons said, “We had great fun creating the Two Pints anniversary sketch with Susan Nickson and the guys. There’s still so much love for the show and it was so hard to keep what we were working on a secret at times, it was just too exciting. To be a part of bringing it back was a real privilege.”
As well creating the anniversary sketch alongside Susan Nickson, Formidable Media have also been working alongside media publisher The Viral Group and Will & Ralf to produce a spin-off podcast and series, Two Pints with Will and Ralf, which is available to watch via The Viral Group’s Facebook Page and listen to on Acast, Spotify and iTunes.
Two Pints with Will and Ralf is now in its second season with just five episodes remaining and first made it’s debut in March 2020…just as the pandemic struck the UK.
Speaking about working with Will and Ralf as well as producing the podcast through such a turbulent time, Pete Gibbons from Formidable Media continued, “We’ve had a blast working with Will and Ralf over the last twelve months. They’re such great guys to work with and there’s never a dull moment that’s for sure! At a time when many actors and indeed production companies, like Formidable Media, have been so affected by the pandemic, it’s been awesome to create something that means so much to so many. We get messages all the time from people who say that Two Pints with Will & Ralf is literally keeping them going through lockdown and that’s just the best feeling.”
Since Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps ended ten years ago, all of the cast have gone on to enjoy incredible careers, but despite their fame and differing paths, it’s clear that they’re still like an unorthodox little family.
As well as the anniversary sketch, The Viral Group, which exclusively broadcasts Two Pints with Will & Ralf via its Facebook, is encouraging fans to let them know what their favourite moment or episode was. The most common answer will be used in a special Watch-A-Long episode of the Two Pints podcast.
