EURO 2020; In anticipation of a historic England victory against Italy on Sunday, tech company UniTaskr is giving its entire workforce (across its Manchester and London locations) an extra day’s leave on Monday and we’re sooooo jealous!

Following England’s nail-biting 2-1 win over Denmark on Wednesday, the national side will compete in its first major grand final in 55 years and the whole country has understandably gone nuts with footy fever.

Speaking about his decision to give his workforce an extra day’s leave on Monday following the EURO 2020 final, Joseph Black, CEO at UniTaskr said, “Euro 2020 has really given our team something positive to think about following a really difficult 18 months and we want them to be able to let their hair down and really celebrate the occasion on Sunday. It’s going to be an incredible night.”

“As well as marking the occasion, giving everyone who works for us the day off on Monday will no doubt improve productivity too.”

The brainchild of former students Joseph Black and Oliver Jacobs, UniTaskr provides university students with the opportunity to earn money by providing discounted services of their choice; anything from dog walking and shopping, to music lessons, language tutoring, CV writing – revolutionising the way that students could both earn and save money throughout their time at university as well as allowing them to choose their own hours and their own wage.

The tech company has gone from strength to strength during the pandemic and has proved a lifeline for many students who’ve been forced to find new ways to earn a living and the unprecedented events of the last 18 months have rocketed UniTaskr to the number one spot in the App store lifestyle & business categories on numerous occasions.

To date, UniTaskr has generated over £5 million in much-needed income for students, who’ve offered their time and digital expertise to complete remote tasks for businesses or promoted brands across their social media platforms.

Through its student influencer network that boasts over 125,000 users, UniTaskr has a reach of 100 million, which has allowed the business to grow internationally and work with an impressive portfolio of clients.

Staff at the tech company have praised bosses for their generous gesture and say they feel “grateful to work for such a progressive and aspirational company.”

And, if that wasn’t enough to make you re-evaluate your job, as soon as lockdown restrictions were eased UniTaskr flew its staff out to Portugal for an all-expenses-paid break away!

Yep! I am definitely in the wrong job…Joseph, Oliver, if you’re reading this, get in touch.
