There’s no doubt that broadcasting on live TV must be very nerve-racking. But this news reporter shocks viewers in the US as he held his nerve and took things to a whole new level.
Reporter Victor Williams from American news channel Local 4, has gone viral on Twitter after showcasing his skateboarding skills while broadcasting live from a skatepark in Detroit. The story he was reporting was that the new local skatepark is offering free skateboarding lessons. Reporter Williams (who clearly doesn’t need any free lessons) delivered his report while effortlessly gilding up and down the ramps at the park.
As he threw the report back to the studio, his colleagues were amazed at his skating skills and commented on how cool he is. Williams revealed that skateboarding has been a life-long love since the age of 8 years old… and it shows.
The video hit Twitter and instantly became a fan favourite, with over 430,000 views and 148,000 likes. People love his effortlessly cool news report, with many on Twitter saying he has raised the bar for all other reporters.
Free skateboarding lessons are happening at a new skatepark in Detroit. Of course I had to show the kids something on @Local4News. In all seriousness – as a child, I would have killed for a new park and mentors in the skateboarding community. Glad to see it’s happening in Detroit pic.twitter.com/3fvC8VJvDq

But there’s more…
Williams’ skateboarding skills isn’t the first time a US news reporter shocks viewers. Reporter Donovan Long from Michigan’s WOOD TV8 impressed viewers when he joined in on a push-up challenge while he delivered his live report.
Challenge accepted!@JenisonWildcats students Jaxen & Matt asked me to do push-ups with them on live tv, and I couldn’t back down!
Looks like @traffictom8 & @terrideboer got some reps in too! 🤣
That’s how you kick off the first day of October on @WOODTV! pic.twitter.com/rdSfx2L2Vx
