Follow a newborn lamb’s road to recovery after falling off the back of a speeding truck in Australia.
The cute little lamb is called Constable Sam and he fell through a small gap in a truck driving down a very busy motorway on March 14 in Vicotria, Australia.
Unfortunately, the lamb was born the same day as his traumatic accident and broke both of his front legs in two places, a serious injury to one of his eyes and a fractured skull.
Highway officials were quickly on the case and rushed him off to Edgar’s Mission a farm sanctuary after finding him.
The volunteers of the non-profit immediately took him into surgery to work on his skull and legs and cleaned his wounds in the hope of keeping the little lamb alive. Post-surgery it was a matter of ensuring the little warrior was fed, and helping him to walk again.
After three months of rehabilitation, Constable Sam has defied odds and made an amazing recovery and has even been adopted to his forever home with two of his pals.
When speaking about Sam the Edgar’s Mission said, “His fractured skull is fractured no more and his once critically injured left eye appears to have not lost its sight. His wobbly legs are now strong and infused with a sense of victory and his wagging tail is unable to conceal his joy for the newfound and splint-free mobility that is now his.”
